Characterization of alpha and beta interactions in liquid xenon

Abstract Liquid xenon based detectors have achieved great sensitivities in rare event searches. Precise knowledge of the scintillation and ionization responses medium is essential to correctly model different interaction types detector including both signal background-like ones. The response liquid low energy electrons alpha particles has been studied Heidelberg Xenon (HeXe) dual-phase TPC. We determine light charge yields for keV-energy MeV-energy as well electron drift velocity electric fields between 7.5 1640 V/cm. A three dimensional simulation using COMSOL Multiphysics used characterize applied field its homogeneity.
